Sun Microsystems Wednesday announced that PeopleSoft has completed an internal implementation of PeopleSoft Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Sales software on the Sun Fire 3800 and 4800 midframe servers.
PeopleSoft CRM Sales is a sales force automation solution designed to enable higher levels of efficiency in the sales process.
Sun Microsystems Wednesday announced that PeopleSoft has completed an internal implementation of PeopleSoft Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Sales software on the Sun Fire 3800 and 4800 midframe servers.
With this implementation, PeopleSoft has eliminated redundant systems and expects to improve its internal efficiencies and employee productivity. By consolidating disparate databases of customer information onto Sun’s single-chip, binary-compatible midframe servers and creating a single data repository, PeopleSoft significantly increased its customer query processing speed.
PeopleSoft chose Sun’s UltraSPARC-III-based Sun Fire Midframe servers running the Solaris 8 Operating Environment because it needed a highly reliable, scalable and available platform to deploy this mission-critical application.
The database, application, and Web server tiers in the software are now driven by a combination of Sun Fire 3800 and 4800 servers that use Sun Cluster 3.0 software. PeopleSoft CRM and Sun Fire Midframe servers provide the Internet architecture, Web interface, advanced availability, and resource management features to make customer information accessible to PeopleSoft’s sales and marketing team.
