NEC Computers announced Tuesday it has added SuperSpeed Software to its fault-tolerant certification partner program.

“The promise of our fault-tolerant server line is to offer complete solutions for all IT environments that want less than five minutes of downtime per year,” said Neil Salamack, FT Systems Program Manager, NEC Computers.

NEC Computers announced Tuesday it has added SuperSpeed Software to its fault-tolerant certification partner program.

SuperSpeed passed NEC’s test with flying colors, and NEC certified the company’s products as a reliable option for boosting server performance with the NEC Express5800/ft fault-tolerant server series. Using this technology, enterprises can run servers as much as 100 times faster and applications up to 30 times faster.

“SuperSpeed’s proven performance enhancement capabilities bring significant value for our IT users running mission-critical applications. As a result of the certification process, our customers can be assured it will work in a fault-tolerant environment,” Salamack said.

SuperSpeed’s products do this via the company’s patented virtual hard drive and hard drive caching technology. The software eliminates a chronic system bottleneck by moving disk data into system memory, where it can be accessed by application software at high speeds.

SuperSpeed’s software products are designed to address the gap that has crept up between system processor and memory speeds on the Intel platform (which have continued to increase rapidly) and application performance (which is still constrained by relatively slow hard drive and Input/Output speeds).

Full details on how SuperSpeed software enhances server performance can be found in the white paper titled “Increasing Mission Critical Performance” available on NEC’s site.
