Designed for the home and SOHO computing environments, Rover POP3 Server is a limited purpose mail server that fetches electronic mail from an Internet mail server and then redistributes the mail to up to five users. Five users is a rather limited number for most situations, which is why many users will want to look at aVirt Mail Server or any of the other mail servers reviewed here.
The Rover POP3 server connects to a larger mail server via any Internet connection (modem, ISDN, frame relay, leased line, network connection, etc.) and grabs mail at predefined intervals for local storage. You can maintain the connection as long as you need, or just long enough to grab the mail. The local users can then access their mail at their convenience.
Five users is a rather limited number for most situations, which is why many users will want to look at <a href="https://www.serverwatch.com/mailserver-avirtmail.
