InterSystems Corporation announced a new version of Cache 5, the company’s post-relational database that may enable real-time analytics in transaction processing environments. In addition, the product may offer a technology breakthrough in an area where demand from application developers and IT executives is building quickly. The new Transactional Bit Map Indexing available in Cache 5 may be useful for complex queries.
InterSystems’ latest release of Cache 5 promises fast Web services and enterprise Java support.
Cache 5 is designed to provide the query performance advantages of advanced indexing technology with update performance equal to that of traditional indexes. Furthermore, from its inception, CACHE was targeted to enable developers to rapidly build and deploy high performance, highly scalable transaction processing applications.
Cache 5 will be priced at $200 in a single-user version and will start at $1,000 for a multiuser configuration. Supported platforms include Sun Solaris, major UNIX platforms, Windows (Windows 95 up), Linux, and HP Open VMS.
