Borland Software Wednesday announced enhanced support for BEA WebLogic Server in JBuilder 7 and Optimizeit Suite 4.2.
The new versions of Borland JBuilder and Optimizeit Suite that shipped earlier this month added support for BEA WebLogic Server 7.0 and enhanced support for earlier versions of BEA Systems’ WebLogic application servers.
Borland Software Wednesday announced enhanced support for BEA WebLogic Server in JBuilder 7 and Optimizeit Suite 4.2.
Since this release, the vendor claims more J2EE server deployments than any other Java development environment.
“We view Borland as a strong, strategic partner, and we see Borland’s development environment for Java as a valuable complement to our BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform,” said Scott Edgington, vice president and general manager, global software alliances, BEA.
“Borland and BEA continue to work closely together to offer leading products for the Java market. With JBuilder 7 and Borland Optimizeit Suite, development teams deploying on BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform are able to develop and optimize their code quickly and easily,” Edgington added.
“Development teams using Borland and BEA benefit from a seamless, tightly integrated development and deployment environment for high-performance J2EE applications,” noted Tony de la Lama, vice president and general manager of Java solutions at Borland.
JBuilder 7 aims to simplify the development and deployment of Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) applications with a two-way visual EJB designer and integration with WebLogic based on established Java standards. The EJB designer speeds the development of large-scale EJB components. According to Borland, the integration between JBuilder and WebLogic Server reduces complexity and streamlines the deployment of applications with the capability to deploy, undeploy, and redeploy EJBs without requiring WebLogic to be shut down or restarted.
JBuilder 7 also allows the visual editing of WebLogic deployment descriptors and enables users to build archive files for WebLogic with the JBuilder Archive Builder, and remote debugging of EJB in WebLogic.
Borland Optimizeit Suite 4.2 also integrates with WebLogic to manage performance for J2EE platform projects being deployed to WebLogic. The Optimizeit Suite integrates with WebLogic to allow profiling scalability and directly profiles applications running on remote WebLogic servers from a development station, without requiring file system sharing changes.
