The issue of how long a Linux distribution will support a release is tends to go back and forth. Novell's openSUSE Linux is no exception.

Starting with openSUSE 11.2, Novell will provide maintenance support for approximately 18 months.

Novell is now revising its policy so that starting with the openSUSE 11.2, maintenance support will be approximately 18 months which is reduction of 6 months from what openSUSE 11.1 and prior offered users.
