Scene7, a dynamic imaging software vendor, last week completed the acquisition of TrueSpectra’s image serving assets.

Scene7 last week announced the completion of its acquisition of TrueSpectra’s image serving assets.

With this purchase, Scene7 aims to strengthen its leadership in the dynamic imaging software market with a beefed-up technology portfolio, a broader installed base, and
additional expertise to its team.

Under the terms of the acquisition, Scene7 has also hired key TrueSpectra personnel for continued software development, technical support, sales and marketing.

Scene7 will support the combined customer base, with TrueSpectra customers receiving technical support directly from Scene7.

According to Scene7, the addition of TrueSpectra’s technology will enable it to serve virtually any sized customer, from a small business looking to automate image serving on its Web site to a Fortune 500 company with complex cross-media requirements.

“TrueSpectra is a real pioneer in the dynamic imaging market with its production proven Image Server — and we will benefit greatly from the addition of strong technology, successful customer implementations, and key personnel,” Doug Mack, CEO of Scene7, said of the acquisition.

“We are excited to complete this acquisition as it will allow us to accelerate the growth of our business, further extend our significant technology leadership, and enhance our ability to serve the wide variety of customer needs in this market. We
are now a “one stop shop” for any company that seeks a solution in this arena,” Mack added.

Scene7 provides dynamic imaging software though its Infinite Imaging Platform (IIP). IIP is a complete platform for dynamic image management, production, and publishing. IIP dynamically generates unlimited image variations from a single master image to automatically populate Web sites and produce content for other media.

Scene7’s clients include a variety of business-to-business and business-to-consumer enterprises including Akamai, American Standard, Behr Paint, IBM, The Home Depot, La-Z-Boy, Levi Strauss & Co., Macromedia, and Victoria’s Secret.
