Microsoft has engaged MigraTEC to deliver migration assessment solutions for a large financial services company. Under the terms of the agreement, MigraTEC will perform migration assessments on a first group of applications as part of a larger project to scope the potential migration of the customer’s systems from Solaris to Windows.

MigraTEC expects that these assessments will be completed before year’s end and estimates they will generate between $60,000 and $70,000 in revenue.
This represents the first of a growing number of migration-related projects expected to take place through the Microsoft-MigraTEC relationship. It builds on the momentum generated from the introduction of the Microsoft Solutions for Unix Migration program unveiled at MEC 2002 earlier this month.
“In this tough economic environment, leading corporations are increasingly looking at shifting from proprietary Unix to industry standard Windows systems to reduce the cost of their IT infrastructure,” said Curtis Overstreet, vice chairman, MigraTEC. “MigraTEC facilitates the move to Windows by providing a predictable and efficient migration path for customers’ mission-critical applications.”
