MicroStrategy, a provider of business intelligence software, announced its intended support for the Solaris 9 Operating Environment. MicroStrategy expects to make its MicroStrategy 7i business intelligence platform available on the Solaris 9 platform, which may enable organizations using this operating system to gain insight from their data and help them enhance cost-efficiencies, productivity and customer relations, and optimize revenue-generating strategies.
MicroStrategy announces its intention to extend its platform to run on Sun Solaris 9 Operating System.
The first phase of this effort was completed in the fourth quarter of 2000 with the release of the Java-based version of the MicroStrategy Software Development Kit (MicroStrategy SDK), which is certified to run with the Sun ONE Web Server.
MicroStrategy expects to deliver its Web-based functionality directly on the Solaris platform later this year. According to the company, thousands of organizations that rely on Sun’s leading UNIX platform will then be able to leverage their existing infrastructures to provide business intelligence applications with improved flexibility and performance. To complete this effort, MicroStrategy intends to release a Solaris OE version of its MicroStrategy Intelligence Server early in 2003.
