"The name was selected from an Arabic word, meaning miracle, a company spokesman said. With the name change, the company will be able to better focus attention on its product line as an XML translater and server as well as one based on a scripting language. The former Scriptics flagship product was its Scriptics Connect server, now renamed Ajuba2, said John Ousterhout, chief technology officer of Ajuba Solutions." The name was selected from an Arabic word, meaning miracle, a company spokesman said. With the name change, the company will be able to better focus attention on its product line as an XML translater and server as well as one based on a scripting language.

"Ousterhout, the author of Tcl, formerly served as CEO, but he announced that the companies new CEO would be Tom Thomas, who will also fill the role of president. Thomas is the former CEO of Vantive Corp. and the former CIO of 3Com, Dell Computer and Kraft Foods."

"Thomas "has the hands-on experience" and understanding of customer relationships to move Ajuba forward as a business-to-business integration company, said Ousterhout. The Ajuba2 server allows a business to tie certain business processes to the receipt of an XML document, such as a purchase order."
