Liquid Audio Unveils Digital Audio Distribution Tool
With Distra, Liquid Audio aims to offer an integrated solution for securely managing the entire digital audio distribution process, including relevant metadata.Liquid Audio Tuesday announced Distra, a licensable hardware and software server solution designed to replace traditional delivery methods and FTP-based file transfers for digital audio by aggregating the approval, reference, collaboration, and distribution of digital audio into one product.
Distra comes with a server appliance and is bundled with feature-packed, Web-based content preparation as well as delivery applications. Files can be transferred instantaneously, no matter where the destination or file size.
Distra supports multiple audio formats and uses Liquid Audio's security and digital rights management system to protect files. Recipients can use Liquid Player software to stream, download, organize, and export audio files while enforcing the usage rules set by the sender. Liquid Audio's real-time tracking and status information is available, making confirmation automatic and generating client billing electronically.
Liquid Audio is marketing Distra as the ideal solution for corporate, commercial, and promotional audio distribution. The vendor cites product reviews and approvals, internal education and training, streaming previews, timed-out downloads, and dynamic streaming radio stations as possible uses for Distra.
"With Distra, most companies can set up their own secure, audio, digital distribution solution in less than 20 minutes," said Gerry Kearby, president and CEO of Liquid Audio.
"Now companies have a viable alternative to clunky FTP sites and other express delivery methods, which can be unreliable and costly," Kearby added.
