ATG to Support IBM Websphere
With this move, ATG adds IBM to its collection of business partners in the application server market that support the company's efforts to enable customers' e-business initiatives to be deployed in diverse technology environments.ATG, AKA Art Technology Group, on Wednesday announced it will deploy ATG Dynamo e-Business Platform and other enterprise applications on IBM's WebSphere Application Server.
This news follows ATG's July announcement that it will deploy its entire application suite across the market's five leading application servers. Through joint development efforts with these business partners, customers will be able to build and deploy applications such as e-commerce, portals, and relationship management on their choice of application servers.
"By extending our relationship with IBM to include support for WebSphere in addition to AIX, we are in a position to provide the capabilities of ATG applications to the greatest customer base possible," said Jeet Singh, co-founder and CEO of ATG.
"The move to support IBM WebSphere has the potential to open new markets for ATG, creating significant new revenue opportunities for the company," Singh added.
As previously announced, ATG will continue to develop and support ATG Dynamo Application Server for enterprises that want to use the full ATG Dynamo suite to run their Web sites. ATG intends to support all major application servers, along with its own, to provide a complete, cost-efficient solution for customers using J2EE.
