More than 17.7 million Web sites responded to the October 2004 survey, an increase from September's peak of nearly 16.65 million sites.
More than 8.3 million of Security Space sites surveyed, or 47.23 percent, had .com domains. Once again this is a lower percentage than the previous month despite an increase in the actual number of .com sites.
