February 2000 Netcraft Survey Results

The Netcraft Web Server Survey is a survey of Web Server software usage on the Internet. Netcraft received responses to its February 2000 survey from 11,161,854 sites.

Some interesting notes about this month's survey results:

• More than 1 million sites were added to the survey this month, bring the total number of responses to more than 11 million.
• Apache has hit a new high this month; nearly 58% of the Internet's Web sites run on an Apache server.
• In future surveys, Netscape-Enterprise Server will be relabeled iPlanet WebServer-Enterprise, as that is the brand now being used by the Sun-Netscape Alliance for server software products.
• Various server platforms, including those from Netscape and Microsoft, have been regrouped. Details can be found on Netcraft's site.
