Collaboration
In many ways, groupware is the clearest way to show the true power of the Web -- groupware servers authenticate users from anywhere in the world and give them the power to work together in a virtual atmosphere. Groupware is software designed for users to collaborate via the Internet and/or a corporate intranet. Collaboration can be done on many levels: documents can be distributed to a set of users for changes (making groupware a very advanced revision-control system), calendars can be synchronized and meetings scheduled, multithreaded discussions can take place in newsgroups, and more.
