Actually, if anyone had been around to view our presentation, they might not have found it so terrible. We used one of Conference Center's new capabilities to spiffy up our PowerPoint presentation by linking to streaming audio and video found elsewhere on the Internet. (OK, so an image of Michael Jordan dunking a basketball didn't have anything to do with our presentation, but it sure was fun to watch.) This means that your streaming content can be stored anywhere on the Internet allowing you to better manage bandwidth. This frees you from having to use a local server managed by a streaming-media server as Conference Center doesn't support streaming media on its own. In addition, you can enter a URL while managing a Conference Center conference and the Web site will appear on every client's screen. Broadcast presentations don't get any easier than this: we merely dragged and dropped PowerPoint files into a browser window and gave the presentation. Application screen shots can also be captured by Conference Center and then inserted at any point into the presentation.
With the client software, users can send questions in real time in a true chat function. Managers can respond in a broadcast chat mode or a one-to-one chat mode and insert graphics and text into the presentation immediately to address the point. New in version 3.0 is the ability to add materials at any time to the presentation . Previously, presentations needed to be converted from the PowerPoint format to a Conference Center format, rendering it unchangeable. Conference managers can turn these capabilities on or off as they see fit; in addition, management capabilities can be assigned to other privileged users at any time.
