The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) is a free management tool that is shipping with Windows 2000. It is also available for operation in Windows 95, 98, and NT. To download, go to the following link:

Basically, this offers a more user friendly management console that has a simpler language for obtaining system queries, which is the WQL. More information on this query language can be found on the MSDN site at the following link:
