'How To' Series (Part 6): Increase the Size of Your Paging File

          If you are having problems on server machines with large apps fighting for "virtual memory", the problem might be that the size of your paging (Swap) file needs to be increased.  This is really not that difficult to do, and the steps are listed below:

          First, right click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop and drop to Poperties, go to the "Advanced" tab, it will look like the following:



          From here, click on the Performance tab and you will get the pop-up:



          Here, you have the ability to increase the size by clicking on "Change...".  You will get the window:



          This is where you can set the Paging file to span drives, disks, etc.  You can also set the maximum size of your registry here.
