New Security Patch for IE

New Security Patch for IE

May 8, 2002

Christopher Rice

Are you still worried about vulnerability to security holes?  Well, it looks like Microsoft has heard your cries for help and is acting.  Bill Gates has stated "security before functionality".  That sounds like someone who understands the need to lock things down.

In an effort to secure IE (probably one of the least secure pieces of the MSFT suite), Microsoft has posted a new fix (well somewhat new -- it's from the end of March).

The "28 March 2002 Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer" update eliminates all previously addressed security vulnerabilities affecting Internet Explorer, as well as two new vulnerabilities which are discussed in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS02-015. Download now to protect your computer from these vulnerabilities, the most serious of which could allow a malicious user to run code on your computer.
