iManage Teams with Fujitsu
August 15, 2002
iManage, a provider of collaborative content management software for global enterprises, announced an OEM agreement with the Fujitsu Software Corporation that should bring new workflow capabilities to iManage WorkSite MP. According to the company, WorkSite MP is the first application suite that combines document management, collaboration, workflow and portal functionality in an integrated solution that operates across Solaris, Linux, and Windows NT and is extensible using COM and Java.
Under the agreement, iManage will embed the Fujitsu i-Flow Business Process Management engine in iManage WorkRoute, the component of the WorkSite suite used to create and manage business processes. The company says that workflow and business process management play a key role in document management and collaboration by facilitating the routing of mission-critical content for approval to knowledge workers both inside and outside the enterprise. Embedded in iManage WorkSite MP, i-Flow should let customers automate practices and procedures and have a strong process automation system that's accessible to workers anytime, anywhere.
iManage cited several criteria in its selection of Fujitsu as its workflow engine partner. Based on an open and flexible Java-based architecture, i-Flow provides a comprehensive set of APIs which should aid in its integration into the iManage solution. Also, the scalability of Fujitsu's workflow product should enable iManage to support key end-user accounts requiring a robust workflow tool with the flexibility and scalability to suit demanding business environments.
