Dell Introduces Certification Program for Server, Storage, Network Capabilities
Dell Tuesday unveiled the Dell Certification Program, a collection of comprehensive skills-based certification program that span key segments of enterprise IT: storage management, server management, and networking.Dell Tuesday unveiled a certification program focused on storage and server management, and networking.
The server certification covers Dell PowerEdge hardware, firmware, OS installation, configuration, local and remote management, and troubleshooting. It is aimed at system administrators and users of Dell PowerEdge servers, as well as administrators responsible for configuring, managing, and monitoring PowerEdge Servers in local and networked environments.
Dell claims its certification program is one of the first skills-based program of its kind, combining core product knowledge with hands-on experience, building and managing standards-based Dell solutions.
The program requires participants pass skills-based examinations to prove their ability to implement, manage, and support Dell products correctly in real-world scenarios.
"We increasingly hear from customers that they are facing tightening budgets while becoming increasingly dependent on technology to support their businesses," said Gary Cotshott, vice president and general manager, Dell Services. "They also are facing more pressure to justify spending and prove the value of their technology investments, which these courses can help do."
"The new Dell Certification Program enables customers to help their organizations maximize the value of their technology investments by guaranteeing them the knowledge and expertise required to implement, configure, manage and monitor Dell server, storage, and networking systems," said Lois Rouder, national training manager for Dell. "In fact, completing Dell certification courses has even helped ease the transition for many of our customers to Dell enterprise solutions, enhancing their ability to ramp up quickly and effectively."
Introductory courses that focus on these areas are available online for $245. Advanced courses are also available. Pricing for these courses begins at $1,795 but varies, depending on the length of course, site location, and the number of students enrolled.
