TrueSpectra Image Server v4.1 offers a variety of new features to enable it to more easily integrate with any Web development environment. The software is now available as a plug-in to IIS and Apache Web Server and can also be installed on a dedicated device as is the case with previous versions.
Once installed, a second-generation image URL generator enables developers to manipulate images on-the-fly using standard HTTP query strings and eliminating tedious image production tasks.
Image Server also offers sophisticated Zoom capabilities, including an enhanced user interface design and powerful navigation window. A new Zoom client for Macromedia Flash MX leverages the new MX product family to provide a Zoom experience for sites that use Macromedia Flash content.
This release of Image Server also includes beefed-up extensions for Macromedia Dreamweaver MX users.
"We've seen significant adoption of v4 across a variety of industries and segments," said V. David Watkins, CEO of TrueSpectra. "We've continued to listen to developers and have built upon our ease of use in 4.1 with enhanced installer, design tools, and broader OS support. The overwhelming response by customers to our solution, feature set and price point convince us that v4.1 will extend our lead in the market."
Version 4.1 of TrueSpectra's Image Server software is available for Windows NT 4, 2000, and XP, Solaris 7 and Solaris 8, and Linux Red Hat 7.3. It is priced at $8,500 per server. A trial version of the TrueSpectra Image Server is available for download from TrueSpectra's Web site.
