VERITAS Software announced the availability of VERITAS Database Edition/Advanced Cluster for Oracle9i Real Application Clusters, which is designed to deliver a cluster management solution for Oracle9i Real Application Clusters, as well as be the industry's first cluster file system supporting Oracle9i Database on the Solaris operating system. By allowing a clustered system running Oracle9i Database to operate as a unified database, VERITAS Database Edition/Advanced Cluster promises to reduce database and storage administration costs, shorten data recovery time, and simplify the implementation of clustered Oracle environments.
According to the company, VERITAS Database Edition for Oracle9i Real Application Clusters combines VERITAS Software's core storage management technologies with high availability products, optimized for the Oracle9i Real Application Clusters environment.
