RLX Technologies Announces Red Hat Linux 7.2 Support

RLX Technologies today became the first company to announce and deliver the Red Hat Linux 7.2 operating system for blade computing applications, beating Hewlett-Packard to market. Red Hat Linux 7.2 is available immediately pre-installed on energy-efficient, ultra-dense RLX ServerBlades. 

"RLX ServerBlades are an excellent platform for running Red Hat Linux in scale-out server applications such as Clustering, and Web serving," said Mark DeVisser, VP of Marketing, Red Hat. "Red Hat Linux 7.2 and RLX provide customers with an outstanding solution and a unique value proposition in the blade computing market." 

Pricing for an RLX ServerBlade with pre-installed Red Hat Linux 7.2 starts at $1,104. RLX will continue to pre-install and support Red Hat Linux 7.1 Server and Microsoft Windows 2000 for Web Servers. 

RLX ServerBlades pre-installed with Red Hat Linux include a 180 day subscription to the Red Hat Network Software Manager and 30 days of Web-based Red Hat installation support. In addition, RLX ServerBlades running Red Hat Linux are fully supported by RLX Control Tower the integrated suite of management tools for software provisioning, server monitoring and remote management. 

RLX products are sold directly from the company as well as IBM's Web Server Division.
