Storage management solutions provider PowerQuest Corp. this week released ServerMagic v4.0 for Windows NT. The newest version of the company's software solution joins ServerMagic v4.0 for NetWare, which was released in early September.

Like its NetWare counterpart, the Windows NT product aims to simplify server storage management and server deployment by enabling network administrators to reduce the amount of time required to manage and maintain server storage while increasing data security.

Storage management solutions provider PowerQuest Corp. this week released ServerMagic v4.0 for Windows NT. The newest version of the company's software solution joins ServerMagic v4.0 for NetWare, which was released in early September.

Version 4.0 adds support for Windows NT and Windows 2000 volume sets, including the capability to check, format, delete, resize, or copy volume sets. IT professionals can also create, format, copy, move and delete partitions to or from a remote server using ServerMagic's across-the-wire functionality. In addition, ServerMagic v4.0 includes improved scripting capabilities from an enhanced GUI interface, enabling users to easily create scripts.

It also allows administrators to resize, copy, move or create NTFS, FAT, FAT32, Linux Ext2, or Linux Swap partitions on the fly without losing data.

With enterprises demanding a fast, inexpensive solution for setting up servers and upgrading existing servers, ServerMagic v4.0 for Windows NT minimizes system downtime and reduces the overall cost of network ownership and administration. This saves administrators hours and days formerly spent deploying and reconfiguring servers.

ServerMagic v4.0 for Windows NT includes Server Image technology (a server deployment tool optimized for Windows NT) to deploy servers quickly throughout the enterprise environment. Using PowerQuest's SmartSector imaging technology, IT professionals, service providers and configuration centers can deploy and configure Microsoft NT Servers, Windows 2000 Servers, and Windows 2000 Advanced Servers.

PowerQuest plans to have ServerMagic 4.0 for Windows NT available worldwide in early November through the PowerQuest Global Licensing Program and its value-added resellers.

Pricing for ServerMagic 4.0 will vary based on the number of licenses purchased. For pricing information, contact a PowerQuest sales associates in your area or call +1 800 379 2566, if in North America.
