2001 UNIX Function Review

Overall ratings of five leading UNIX operating systems are presented in this report together with evaluations of each server against critical criteria. The servers are AIX 4.3.3; HP-UX 11i; Solaris 8; Tru64 UNIX 5.1; and UnixWare 7.1.1. The criteria used to rank these servers are Scalability; RAS (Reliability, Availability, Serviceability); System Management; Internet and Web-Application Services; Directory Services and Security services.
