Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials is $545 for up to 25 users (a bargain for small businesses) and is described by PC Mag as a user-friendly OS shell that sits on top of the powerful Server 2008 R2 system.

"A feature that really differentiates SBS 2011 from Server 2008 is the dashboard. In Server 2008, after install, the Server Manager is what you typically see after installing the OS. Navigating Server Manager requires some experience setting up Windows servers. In lieu of Server Manager, SBS 2011 has a dashboard, a user-friendly, wizard-based centralized console for configuring all the main tasks you would want to perform with a server, such as configuring the server and adding server roles. Sharing options are also configured from the dashboard. Administrators can setup users, shared folders and also set password policies here. Clicking the dashboard launches 'getting started tasks,' which introduces the features in SBS 2011."
