Server Farm Opens New Market In Data Hosting

In an effort to meet the needs of companies moving more of their operations online, larger server farms are the answer and Bend Broadband is not to be left out. The company recently announced its $16 million, 30,000-square-foot server farm, which it hopes will open a new market in data hosting for the small company. Employing 250 , the privately held Bend Broadband specializes in cable and high-speed Internet services.”

"Bend Broadband has lined up three big clients for the facility, including the St. Charles Health System in Bend, which occupies a quarter of the new facility. The others are an unnamed Oregon bank and a telecom company from the East Coast. If business is strong, Bend Broadband has room for a second, $10 million phase on its existing site, according to Leonard Weitman, the company's vice president for technical operations. The existing facility employs various energy-saving initiatives and has its own, small solar array.”
