Hyper-V Cloud Scheme Generates Server-Based Private Clouds
As reported on The Whir, Microsoft announced it has released Hyper-V Cloud scheme, a new group of tools designed for businesses that are looking to generate their own Windows Server-based private
cloud computing infrastructures. This is the latest
private cloud initiative announcement following the launch of Windows Azure Platform Appliance. Service providers and large customers are able to operate the Azure development and hosting platform as a private cloud from their own data centers. This enables developers to create new applications which can run in the cloud.
Microsoft offers Hyper-V tools for businesses.
"'Many of our customers have told us they want the benefits of cloud-computing fast deployment, increased agility, lower costs but with tight control over things like physical infrastructure and security policies,' says Brad Anderson, corporate vice president of Microsoft's management and security division. 'Our new private cloud offerings fulfill that need at the infrastructure level, while providing a clear migration path to cloud services at the platform level.'"/p>
