Plenty of AMD Server Hardware in TOP500 Supercomputers
According to a recent news statement from AMD, the number one supercomputer is powered by the AMD Opteron processor. Jaguar, a massive, 1.75 petaflop Cray XT5 supercomputer is based on the Six-Core AMD Opteron processor and features almost a quarter of a million cores. The company also said that the number of AMD technology-based supercomputers on the TOP500 list now stands at 51.
