NEC Express5800 Enterprise Server Record
In a recent press release on Market Watch, NEC Corporation of America claims its NEC Express5800/A1080a enterprise server with Intel Xeon processor 7500 series technology achieved the fastest performance on the recently released TPC-E benchmark.
NEC is one of several server vendors getting a boost with the the Xeon 7500 series processor.
"This world record performance of 3,141.76 tpsE (transactions-per-second in TPC-E) at $768.92 USD/tpsE achieved by the NEC Express5800/A1080a outperforms, by more than 50 percent, the second-place performance record of 2,022.64 tpsE achieved by the IBM System x3850 X5. The NEC Express5800/A1080a also has over two and a half times the tpsE performance with the approximately equal price per performance when compared to the only other TPC-E top ten performing eight-processor system."
