Citrix, Microsoft Collaborate on Virtualization

Citrix plans to support the upcoming Microsoft RemoteFX technology platform, which is expected to be included in a future release of Windows Server 2008 R2 service pack 1. According to IT Brief, this support is part of a new collaboration agreement between the two companies.


Citrix plans to collaborate with Microsoft on support for virtual desktops.

"As part of the agreement, Citrix XenDesktop will expand its high-definition HDX technology to 'further enhance the capabilities of RemoteFX and extend them to a broader range of use cases and locations' said Citrix.

"According to Citrix, the move is the latest in a set of announcements that expands the company’s partnership with Microsoft in desktop virtualization."
