Data Center Management Puts Focus on IT Efficiency

More than 800 enterprise executives, managers and vendors were out at AFCOM's Data Center World 2010 in Nashville. According to this video report on eWeek, static switches, Green IT and date center energy management were just a few of the trends and technologies discussed.


AFCOM's Data Center World 2010 looks at data center management and the trends we'll see this year.

"Mostly those decision-making IT veterans were there for two reasons: to find out how to run their systems more effectively with an eye toward saving power and money. To that end, there were dozens of study sessions ranging from the all-encompassing 'The Data Center Energy Crisis' to the very specialized, such as 'The Three-Source Static Switch: Taking Redundancy to the Next Level.' For the record, 30-year-old AFCOM is the world's oldest data center professional and educational association; its members own and operate 4,500 of the world's most powerful data centers.
