Microsoft Exchange Server is a line of servers that specialize in e-mail, calendaring, data storage, contacts lists, and mobile and web based access to information. According to the report on News Blaze, the first Microsoft Exchange Server application was launched in 1993, and now Microsoft Server 2010 is the latest in applications targeting small and medium sized businesses.

With Microsoft Exchange Servers, businesses don't have to spend thousands to purchase servers.

"For any business that uses online email and other communications, it's vitally important to create an environment where email is backed up, virus protection is in place, and computers can communicate and network with each other. This is where Microsoft's Hosted Exchange servers come into play and, best of all, small and medium businesses can lease space at companies that specialize in exchange hosting."
